Univision Promotes Munoz, Kakoyiannis In Radio Sales Division

Univision and Katz Radio Group have named Chris Munoz executive VP and general manager of Univision Radio National Sales (URNS). Munoz, an 11-year Univision veteran who previously served as senior VP overseeing network radio revenue, replaces Laura Hagan.

In addition, Peter Kakoyiannis has been promoted to senior VP of national sales for URNS, reporting to Munoz. He joined URNS in 2002 as VP and general sales manager. Both appointments are effective on November 1.

"Chris has proven himself as a respected leader in sales with a strong record of success and excellent relationships in the industry," said Univision Radio president and COO Gary Stone. "He is the ideal person to drive growth for Univision Radio National Sales."

"Chris has built a strong track record and I am delighted that he will take the helm of Univision Radio National Sales," added Katz Radio Group president Mark Gray. "Chris has the experience to work in concert with Peter to maximize Univision Radios assets and the channels inside Univision Communications to further their unique cross-platform integration opportunities."

Before joining Univision Radio, Munoz was VP of national TV spot sales for the Univision Television Group for the Midwest territory. In 1997, he was part of the newly organized NBC sales and marketing division in Chicago. He represented owned-and-operated TV stations as an account manager.
