Damnit this is getting out of control. When it was added at WKSC I shrugged it off to the new incoming former Q102 PD wanting to make the corporate bean counters happy. But messing with the #1 station in the #1 market is not cool. Will JJ (who is very talented by the way) be on LIVE for all those hours? Will he get a pay increase? I doubt either of those questions is answered with a Yes.
I might be less spiteful if this Seacrest syndicated crap was anything special, or if it was even just "GOOD" but it's H O R R I B L Y chopped pieces of his KIIS morning show that are thrown together without any care or interest in addressing local market needs and audience.
: Any remnants of the radio world we once knew, are now officially gone.:
: Ryan Seacrest scores America's other top 40 bookend: Clear Channel's WHTZ (Z100)/New York, as "On-Air With Ryan Seacrest" conquers 10 a.m.-1 p.m. there starting Monday, Oct. 13. With his arrival, midday goddess Shelley Wade moves to overnights and will now be on from 2-5 a.m., and afternoon dude JJ Kincaid will give the Tri-State area another hour of his audio goodness as his shift will start at 1 p.m., immediately following Seacrest.
:
: "Z100 has been my favorite radio station in New York since I was a kid ... I listen to Elvis all the time," Seacrest said, commenting on Z100 morning guy Elvis Duran and not Elvis Presley. "I can't wait to play the Z100 jingles every workday and continue the 'American Top 40' on the weekends."
:
: Ryan is arguably one of todays biggest pop culture icons," said senior VP of programming Tom Poleman. "From his ability to get candid interviews with the hottest Hollywood celebrities to his 'American Idol' fame, he is the perfect addition to Z100. With Elvis Duran and Ryan Seacrest as our lead off personalities, we have the ultimate starting lineup for pop radio."
