Tribune Knows Dukes

Tribune has bagged yet another former Jacor family member: Tim Dukes has been dragged back into the fold as Tribunes newly named VP/Promotions for its broadcasting and interactive divisions. Tribune Interactive president Marc Chase remarked, [Tribune senior VP/programming & entertainment] Sean Compton and I wanted one special person to lead our national promotional efforts online and on-air. When we couldnt find that person, we went to Tim instead, and we got to proudly state to Tribune CEO Randy Michaels that we didnt go back to the well for this one. Hes the first stiff weve hired from a Wall Street firm!

Dukess 20-plus-year radio career began with Jacor and lasted until February 2007, when he left Emmis classic rock WLUP/Chicago. Several months later, he joined Wachovia Securities as a financial advisor. I ignored Marc and Sean at first, Dukes says of the duos overtures. I was finally in a respectable career and hoped theyd stop calling. Then they showed up in my office lobby, and, like Jake and Elwood in The Blues Brothers restaurant scene, set out to embarrass me at work: tossing food into each others mouths, locking arms while eating shrimp cocktail and talking in lousy French accents. I resigned on the spot just so theyd knock it off.
